Celebrating Relationship With A New Logo
Brunei Darussalam and China have come up with a unique and innovative way to celebrate the 30 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations. The residents of Brunei Darussalam and the Chinese citizens who are living in the country now have the chance to take part in a unique competition and win various prizes from the Chinese company Huawei. The challenge is to design a logo that commemorates the 30 years of a strong relationship between Brunei Darussalam and China.
Yu Hong, the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam initiated this competition along with the Permanent Secretary (Politics and International Organizations) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Pengiran Norhashimah Binti Pengiran Muhammad Hassan. Also present was the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Dr Siti Norkhalbi Binti Haji Wahsalfelah.
At the inauguration of the ceremony, Dr Siti Norkhalbi said that the cultural cooperation and exchanges between Brunei Darussalam and China have only strengthened over the last 30 years and the impact can clearly be seen on an individual as well as community level. Thanks to this strength and cultural cooperation, there is a much better understanding between the two nations and their people. There is a sense of togetherness and the ties between Brunei and China are deep.
The Logo Design Competition has been organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Brunei Darussalam and the MFA. Also participating is the MCYS. They have organized the logo design competition to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between China and Brunei. They will celebrate cooperation, friendship, and partnership.
As for the logos, Dr Siti Norkhalbi said that they should be custom logo designs and original. They should be in picture form. The most important part of the competition is that the logos should capture the theme of the event in bright and concise colours and it should be the most prominent feature of the logo. The logos should be either JPG format or PNG format and printed on an A3 sized paper. The dimensions should be 1000×1000 pixels and 300PPI. The file should not exceed the size of 5MB.
Anyone can become a part of this challenge whether they are a student, an employee, a business person, or someone working for a company that provides logo services, or more.
The design is not everything. What’s also important is that there should be a complete and comprehensive description of the logo. The description should include the concept of the design as well as the symbolic meanings of the visuals and the colours used in the graphics. Also included will be the author’s biography, recent photograph, and the contact details. There are no restrictions on the number of submissions. If you want to enter more than one logos, you can. Also, participants can be individuals or groups. Once the logos have been submitted, they will become the property of the organizers of the competition and all right will automatically be transferred to them and the logo designers should not expect them back.
If you are residing in Brunei Darussalam, you too can take part in the competition by registering at www.kkbs.gov.bn. You can also go to www.facebook.com/Chinaembbn.
You will have to submit the design in both hard copies as well as soft copy. The deadline for logo submission is 3 PM on November 19, 2020.
